[Alpha Biz= Paul Lee] The Republic of Korea (ROK) Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS) reported that North Korea fired an unidentified projectile into the East Sea on January 27.

The JCS is currently analyzing the projectile’s specifications and range.

Earlier, on January 4, North Korea launched a ballistic missile into the East Sea. If the latest projectile is confirmed as a ballistic missile, it would be North Korea’s second launch of the year and the first in 23 days.
