"We have been investigating the collection and processing of personal information by major overseas direct purchase companies since last month in the wake of the parliamentary audit," the Personal Information Protection Commission said. "We will check the appropriateness of the personal information processing policy, overseas relocation, and the obligation to take safety measures under the Personal Information Protection Act, and take measures in accordance with relevant laws if violations are confirmed."

Earlier on the 6th, the Fair Trade Commission also launched an investigation into the recent controversy over consumer damage by users of Aliexpress.
