[Alpha Biz= Reporter Kim Minyoung] According to industry sources, the Fair Trade Commission (FTC) has initiated an investigation into suspicions that beverage companies like Coca-Cola Korea and Lotte Chilsung raised selling prices through collusion.

On the 9th, the FTC sent investigators to Coca-Cola Korea, Lotte Chilsung, Dongseo Beverage, and other beverage companies to secure data related to beverage sales.

It is reported that the FTC has detected evidence that these dominant players in the domestic beverage market raised beverage prices through collusion and has launched an investigation.

The FTC has stated its commitment to monitor for unfair practices such as collusion and maintaining resale prices in essential areas like food, daily necessities, and services to ensure price stability.

While an FTC official refrained from confirming details about the ongoing investigation, they emphasized that if any violations of the law are confirmed, strict measures will be taken.
