[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Kim Jisun] Hanwha Food Tech, led by Hanwha Hotel & Resort Vice President Kim Dong-sun (photo), the third son of Hanwha Group Chairman Kim Seung-yeon, has acquired the U.S. robot pizza brand Stellar Pizza. This is the first M & A since Hanwha Food Tech was officially launched last month.

Hanwha Food Tech announced on the 4th that it acquired 100% of its Stellar Pizza assets through Hanwha Food Tech Global, a US corporation. The acquisition price is closed to the public. Stellar Pizza was founded by Benson Chai, who was researching and developing rocket and satellite battery systems at SpaceX, a global aerospace company, after three years of preparation. The initial investment was about 30 billion won, drawing attention as famous rapper Jay-Z reportedly participated.

Stellar Pizza's competitiveness comes from a 'complete automation system'. If you add pizza dough aged at low temperature for 48 hours, the robot will process the entire process from adding toppings to cooking ovens.

Thanks to the drastic reduction in labor costs, the price is also cheap. The price of pizza sold by Stellar Pizza in Los Angeles (LA) is $ 8 to $ 9 per plate, which is 60% of major pizza brands. Hanwha Food Tech plans to introduce Stella Pizza in Korea and the United States after completing the management efficiency of Stella Pizza.
