[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Kim Jisun] LS Cable & System announced on the 6th that it has signed a contract with CIP of Denmark to be the preferred bidder for the submarine cable of Taiwan's Fengmiao offshore wind power project.

The project is the first project of Taiwan's second 15GW-scale offshore wind power project to be created from 2026 to 2035. It will be built on an 500MW scale off the coast of Taichung Port by 2027. LS Cable's submarine cable supply is expected to be about 130 billion won.

The industry expects that additional submarine cables to be ordered in Taiwan by 2035 will reach about 3 trillion won.

LS Cable & System is considering building an undersea cable plant in Vietnam with LS Eco Energy as demand for undersea cables is expected to increase due to increased power demand.
