[Alpha Biz= Paul Lee] Seoul, August 26, 2025 — Uber Taxi announced today at a press briefing held at Lotte Hotel Seoul that it will introduce a new membership service in Korea next month, alongside presenting its achievements from the first half of the year and plans for the remainder of 2025.

Jinwoo Song, General Manager of Uber Taxi Korea, said, “In the second half of this year, we aim to provide passengers with more choices and create new revenue opportunities for drivers, making this a turning point for Uber Taxi’s next stage of growth in the Korean market.”

Uber Taxi officially confirmed the local launch of Uber One, Uber’s global subscription-based membership service. With Uber One, members will earn up to 10% back in Uber One Credits on each Uber Taxi ride.

Partnered Uber Taxi services: up to 10% back

General taxis: 5% back

The service will begin with beta testing in select regions early next month, with a full rollout to follow. The monthly subscription fee will be KRW 4,900, while an annual plan will be offered at KRW 49,000.

The launch comes as local competition intensifies. Just a day earlier, Kakao Mobility introduced its own subscription service, offering taxi and parking benefits for KRW 4,900–5,000 per month.
