[Alpha Biz= Kim Jisun] The abrupt bankruptcy of TOPCLASS EDUEYE, a remote online education platform, has left hundreds of students, parents, and instructors facing significant financial and educational losses.

According to industry sources on May 18, the company recently announced its closure via a public notice, stating, “Due to ongoing financial deterioration, we have no choice but to cease operations.” The statement added, “We sincerely apologize to all students and parents and will do our best to minimize the damage.”

Established in 2018, TOPCLASS EDUEYE offered one-on-one remote tutoring services and employed approximately 20 staff members. The company informed instructors and parents of its shutdown via text message on May 15, declaring bankruptcy without prior warning.

Since then, numerous issues have surfaced. Tuition refunds have not been processed, and instructors report unpaid wages for April and May. As of now, around 300 instructors are said to be owed approximately ₩150 million in back pay.
