[Alpha Biz= Reporter Kim Jisun] T'way Air, headquartered in Daegu, has been fined 14 million KRW for failing to promptly notify passengers of flight delays. On October 3, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport (MOLIT) announced penalties against 10 domestic and international airlines for violating aviation regulations.

The fines were confirmed after a review by the Administrative Penalty Review Committee and consultations with the airlines. T'way Air, along with Spring Airlines, Air Japan, Lao Airlines, Greater Bay Airlines, Lufthansa, Malaysia Airlines, and Peach Aviation, are among the carriers penalized.

According to aviation regulations, airlines are required to promptly inform passengers of any changes due to delays or cancellations. However, between March 31 and June 24 of this year, T'way Air delayed notifying passengers in seven instances of flight delays. MOLIT has imposed a fine of 2 million KRW per violation, totaling 14 million KRW.
