[Alpha Biz= Paul Lee] On the evening of August 20, a worker in his 50s passed away while performing sorting duties at Coupang’s logistics center in Yongin, Gyeonggi Province.

The incident occurred at approximately 9:11 p.m. inside the frozen storage facility, where the employee, identified only as Mr. A, suddenly collapsed. He was immediately transported to a nearby hospital but was pronounced dead about two hours later.

Authorities confirmed that the accident did not stem from a workplace safety issue within the cold storage facility, which handles fresh food products. Police are currently investigating the exact cause of death, including the possibility of underlying health conditions.

At the time of the incident, Yongin had been under a heat advisory since August 15, with local temperatures recorded at around 27 degrees Celsius.
