[Alpha Biz= Paul Lee] Satellite communications antenna and ground gateway solutions provider Intellian Technologies announced on Friday that it has signed a contract with Canadian satellite operator Telesat to develop and supply flat-panel antennas for the ‘Lightspeed’ low Earth orbit (LEO) satellite network.

Intellian Technologies, the global market leader in maritime satellite communication antennas, is expanding its business into the LEO and medium Earth orbit (MEO) satellite communication markets.

Telesat’s Lightspeed network is a next-generation system consisting of hundreds of LEO satellites, designed to provide reliable and high-speed internet connectivity worldwide.

Under this agreement, Intellian Technologies will supply Ka-band flat-panel antennas optimized for the Lightspeed LEO satellites, incorporating electronically steered beam (AESA) technology.
