[Alpha Biz= Paul Lee] A recent survey revealed that many consumers using paid e-commerce memberships feel that the benefits they receive do not justify the membership fees.

According to a satisfaction survey conducted by the Korea Consumer Agency on users of "Coupang Wow," "Naver Plus Membership," and "Shinsegae Universe Club," 52.7% of respondents stated that the benefits did not match the cost of membership.

The overall satisfaction score was 3.53 out of 5, with Naver Plus Membership scoring the highest at 3.63, followed by Coupang at 3.6 and Shinsegae at 3.37.

Regarding specific benefits, Coupang users were most satisfied with free shipping, while Naver members favored "Family Free Rewards," and Shinsegae members appreciated the "Sign-up Reward."

The survey also found that consumers made an average of 7.6 online purchases per month and spent approximately 393,000 KRW. Additionally, 69.9% of the 1,500 respondents reported an increase in their purchase frequency after subscribing to a membership.
