[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Paul Lee] Prosecutors raided SK Geocentric's Ulsan plant on the 21st in connection with a serious accident that killed two workers at SK Geocentric's Ulsan plant two years ago.

The Ulsan District Prosecutors' Office has sent about 10 investigators each to the Ulsan plant since 9 a.m. to raid related departments.

On April 21, 2022, a fire broke out at SK Geocentric's Ulsan plant in Nam-gu, Ulsan during the maintenance of oil storage tanks.

Two workers from partner companies were burned and taken to a hospital, but eventually died.

The prosecution will apply the charges of violating the Serious Accident Punishment Act and investigate whether the company has appropriately appointed a chief safety officer (CSO) or fulfilled its safety obligations.
