[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Kim Jisun] Hanjin Group Chairman Cho Won-tae (Chairman of Korean Air) was re-elected as an in-house director of Korean Air despite opposition from the National Pension Service.

Korean Air announced on the 21st that it has decided on the appointment of an in-house director at the regular shareholders' meeting held at its headquarters in Gangseo-gu, Seoul.

The National Pension Service earlier expressed its intention to oppose Cho's re-election as an in-house director, citing his negligence in monitoring violations of shareholder rights. However, Cho's appointment of an in-house director was passed at the shareholders' meeting without any objection from the participants.
