[Alpha Biz= Paul Lee] Prosecutors have once again requested a 10-year prison sentence for former Kumho Asiana Group Chairman Park Sam-koo, who is accused of using affiliated companies to unlawfully support his private firm.

During the sentencing hearing held on July 22 at the Seoul High Court, prosecutors asked the court to dismiss Park's appeal and uphold the original sentence.

Park was convicted in August 2022 by a lower court for embezzling company funds in his attempt to reacquire Kumho Industrial — the former parent company of Asiana Airlines — through a private firm. He was sentenced to 10 years in prison at the time.
