[Alpha Biz= Reporter Paul Lee] Asiana Airlines announced on the 12th that it will not lease two of its four newly introduced Boeing 747-400F cargo planes this year.

Asiana Airlines earlier announced on the 5th of last month that it will introduce four Boeing 747-400F cargo planes to enhance on-time performance and operational safety. Two of the four cars were planned to be purchased for 72.49 billion won, while the other two were to be leased. The two purchase plans have remained unchanged so far, but the two lease introductions have been canceled.

The contract reportedly failed to narrow differences during negotiations between Asiana Airlines and its cargo plane ambassadors.

Asiana Airlines said, "We plan to maintain the size of the cargo base."
