[Alpha Biz= Reporter Kim Minyoung] Dongwon F & B announced on the 24th that it will raise the price of all yangban seaweed products by 15% on average from the 1st of next month. Previously, CJ CheilJedang and laver companies Gwangcheon laver, Daecheon laver and Sungkyung Foods raised the price of laver products by 10-30%, and Dongwon F & B, which has the largest market share of seasoned laver, also joined the increase.


With the decision to raise the price, yangban perilla oil, a major item, will be 15.8% more expensive from 9,480 won to 10,980 won, and yangban perilla oil will be 14.6% more expensive from 4,780 won to 5,480 won. Dongwon F & B explained that the increase in product prices applies to all retailers, including large discount stores, convenience stores, and online channels.

Dongwon F & B explained that the original price, the raw material of seasoned laver, doubled year-on-year, adding that the supply decreased due to poor global harvest, while the export of laver increased due to the popularity of K-food.
