Krafton to Acquire Additional Shares in Neptune for KRW 165 Billion to Strengthen Diversification and Long-Term Growth

[Alpha Biz= Kim Jisun] SEOUL, April 29 — Krafton Inc. announced today that it will acquire an additional 18,387,039 shares of game developer Neptune Inc. for approximately KRW 165 billion. Upon completion of this acquisition, Krafton's stake in Neptune will increase to 42.5%, making Krafton the largest shareholder. The acquisition is scheduled for completion by June 30 of this year.



Krafton stated that the purpose of this investment is to secure long-term growth momentum through business diversification. Prior to this acquisition, Krafton held a 3.16% stake in Neptune, and this investment will elevate the company to the largest shareholder position.



Neptune, founded in 2012 by former NHN Hangame CEO Jung Wook, is known for titles such as "Endless Stair" and "Cat Snack Bar." The company also owns Nimble Neuron, the developer behind the popular online game "Eternal Return."



Meanwhile, Kakao Games, which has been a significant stakeholder in Neptune, has stated that its decision to dispose of shares is aimed at focusing its resources on its core business.
