[Alpha Biz= Kim Jisun] SEOUL, November 17 — DL E&C announced that it has suspended all work at its construction site in Jinhae New Port, Changwon, after a fatal accident occurred earlier this morning.
In a statement issued under CEO Park Sang-shin’s name, the company said it “takes full responsibility as the contractor, where safety must be the top priority,” and confirmed that work has also been halted at other sites involving similar types of operations. DL E&C is conducting emergency safety inspections across all project sites.
The company added that it will take all necessary measures to support the victim’s family, ensure proper incident management, and fully cooperate with authorities to help establish the exact cause of the accident.
Earlier today, a man in his 60s fell into the water and died after mooring-barrel operations on a barge at the Jinhae New Port breakwater project site.
