[Alpha Biz= Kim Jisun] Hong Ra-hee, Honorary Director of the Leeum Museum of Art, will transfer her entire stake in Samsung C&T to her son, Samsung Electronics Chairman Lee Jae-yong, the company announced on December 2.

According to the disclosure, Hong will gift 1,808,577 shares of Samsung C&T to Chairman Lee. His ownership stake will rise from 19.93% to 20.99%, while Hong’s stake will drop to zero. The agreement was signed on November 28, and the transfer will be completed on January 2 next year.

Samsung C&T sits at the top of the Samsung Group’s governance structure. Members of the founding family, including Chairman Lee, hold significant stakes in the company. Samsung C&T controls Samsung Life Insurance, which in turn holds substantial influence over Samsung Electronics—forming the core of the conglomerate’s control structure.
