[Alpha Biz= Kim Jisun] A Korean Air flight scheduled to depart from Boston Logan International Airport to Incheon International Airport was delayed due to a minor collision on the ground.

According to Korean Air on Tuesday, Flight KE092, which was set to depart for Incheon at 1:09 PM on February 1, sustained damage to its wingtip during de-icing operations amid heavy snowfall. The damage was caused by ground handling equipment operated by airport staff.

To ensure safe operation, Korean Air transported replacement parts from Incheon, completed repairs, and conducted necessary maintenance before resuming the flight. As a result, the flight was delayed by 28 hours and 40 minutes. A total of 243 passengers were onboard.

Passengers were provided hotel accommodations during the extended layover. Additionally, for the 110 passengers with connecting flights in Incheon, Korean Air arranged alternative travel itineraries to minimize disruptions.
