Ourhome Issues Apology Three Days After Factory Accident Involving Employee Injury

[Alpha Biz= Kim Jisun] Ourhome officially apologized on Monday, three days after an employee was seriously injured in a factory accident at its Yongin facility on April 4.


In a statement released under the name of CEO Lee Young-pyo, Head of Business Operations, the company said, "We sincerely hope for the employee's recovery and extend our deepest apologies to the family." 

 

 

The company added, "We are actively cooperating with investigations being conducted by the police and the Ministry of Employment and Labor. We are doing everything possible to determine the exact cause of the accident and prevent recurrence, while also supporting the injured employee and their family."


Ourhome further stated, “Regardless of the cause, we will thoroughly inspect the safety management system across all our operations and reinforce our company-wide safety management framework. In addition to conducting an internal investigation, we will fully cooperate with authorities and mobilize all resources to support the injured employee and their family.”


The incident occurred around 11:20 a.m. on April 4, when a male employee in his 30s became trapped by the neck in a machine at the company’s factory in Yongin, Gyeonggi Province. He was transported to the hospital in cardiac arrest. 

 

Although he has since regained spontaneous breathing, he remains unconscious. According to police, there is no CCTV footage of the accident, and authorities are currently questioning factory personnel to determine the details of the incident.
