[Alpha Biz= Paul Lee] KB Life Insurance has reported a suspected data breach involving employee information.

According to industry sources on May 26, KB Life Insurance experienced a cyberattack on May 16 targeting its Mobile Device Management (MDM) server. This server contained employee ID numbers and other related information but is currently understood to be inactive.

The Financial Security Institute is currently investigating whether any personal information of employees was leaked.

A KB Life Insurance spokesperson stated, "We became aware of the attack on May 22," adding, "This incident is completely unrelated to customer information."

Following a recent large-scale hacking incident at SK Telecom, similar cybersecurity incidents are now affecting the financial sector.

Recently, two insurance agencies also suffered hacking attacks resulting in the leakage of personal information for a total of 1,107 individuals.
