[Alpha Biz= Paul Lee] TIFFANY & Co., recognized as one of the world’s top three luxury jewelry brands, has confirmed a data breach involving personal information of its South Korean customers.
The leaked data reportedly includes customers’ names, addresses, phone numbers, email addresses, internal customer IDs, and sales data.
The data breach occurred on April 8, but Tiffany only became aware of the incident on May 9.
Tiffany Korea sent emails to some customers with purchase histories informing them that an unauthorized access incident occurred on a third-party platform used for customer data management.
A Tiffany Korea representative told Yonhap News TV, “The leaked data includes personal information provided during purchases, but no financial information was compromised. The incident did not occur within South Korea but originated from Tiffany’s global systems.”
However, Tiffany Korea has yet to post any official announcement regarding the breach on its website.
