[Alpha Biz= Paul Lee] The Korea Development Bank (KDB) announced on February 25 that Asiana Airlines is set to repay the remaining 1.38 trillion KRW of policy loans on February 26.

This repayment comes as a result of improvements in Asiana's financial structure and credit rating following its merger with Korean Air. It is expected that Asiana, now a subsidiary of Korean Air, will proceed with steps toward normalizing its operations.

As a result of this repayment, KDB, the Export-Import Bank of Korea, and the Industrial Bank of Korea will be able to fully recover the 3.6 trillion KRW in policy funds that were injected into Asiana to support its normalization.
