[Alpha Biz= Paul Lee] On June 2, Coupang announced the cancellation of more than 20,000 orders that resulted from a pricing error on cereal cup products. The mistake occurred between 5 p.m. on May 30 and 2 a.m. on June 1, during which a bundle of 118 cups of Post Five-Grain Choco Ball Cereal (30g each) was mistakenly listed for ₩3,800—effectively pricing each unit at ₩32 (approximately $0.02).

News of the pricing error spread quickly online, leading to a surge in orders overnight. Coupang notified affected customers that the product quantity was incorrectly listed and that the orders had to be canceled as a result. The company stated it is currently investigating the cause and working on measures to prevent similar incidents in the future.

This incident follows a similar case in May, when a 36-pack of Nongshim Yukgaejang Cup Noodles was erroneously priced at ₩5,040 (₩140 per unit). At that time, Coupang acknowledged the mistake and shipped available inventory. For canceled orders due to stock shortages, the company compensated customers with Coupang Cash equivalent to the order amount.
