Samsung SDS Appoints Lee Joon-hee as New CEO

[Alpha Biz= Reporter Kim Jisun] Samsung SDS announced on November 28 the appointment of Lee Joon-hee, Executive Vice President of Samsung Electronics’ Network Business Strategy and Marketing Team, as its new CEO.

Lee Joon-hee is a seasoned expert in IT and telecommunications, holding a bachelor’s degree in electronic engineering from Seoul National University and both master’s and doctorate degrees in electrical and electronic engineering from MIT. He joined Samsung Group in 2006 through the Samsung Electronics DMC Research Center.

Lee's notable achievements include driving innovation in Samsung's Galaxy series and spearheading the world's first commercialization of 5G networks. In 2019, as head of the technology strategy team within Samsung Electronics’ Mobile Division, he led the successful launch of the Galaxy S10, the world’s first 5G smartphone. This success earned him a promotion to head of the Network Development Team the following year. In 2022, he was appointed head of the Network Strategy and Marketing Team.

Lee’s leadership and expertise are expected to steer Samsung SDS towards further innovation and growth in the IT services and solutions industry.
