[Alpha Biz= Kim Jisun] In an unprecedented move, Netflix will integrate the entire lineup of TF1—one of France’s largest broadcasters—into its platform. While individual shows from TV networks have previously been distributed via Netflix, this marks the first time an entire broadcast channel will be available within the Netflix ecosystem.

On June 18 (local time), Netflix officially announced a partnership with TF1 Group. Starting in the summer of 2026, Netflix subscribers in France will be able to watch live TF1 channels and paid content (TF1+) directly through the Netflix app.

The New York Times described the partnership as “equivalent to CBS in the U.S. or ITV in the UK being folded into Netflix,” underscoring its significance. TF1 currently commands a 24% market share in traditional French broadcasting, while Netflix has around 10.1 million subscribers in France.

The deal is seen as a mutually beneficial strategy: Netflix boosts its content offering amid intensifying competition, and TF1 gains access to new viewers and enhanced advertising revenue.
