[Alpha Biz= Reporter Kim Jisun] On December 11, Green Cross Holdings announced its acquisition of the entire 100 million shares of ABO Holdings for 138 billion KRW. ABO Holdings, based in California, operates six blood centers across three U.S. states: New Jersey, Utah, and California. Additionally, two more centers are under construction in Texas and are expected to become operational by 2026, bringing the total number of blood centers to eight.

Through this acquisition, GC Biopharma has achieved vertical integration in its plasma fractionation business, encompassing raw material procurement, production, and sales. Securing plasma supply from local blood centers is expected to strengthen its ability to meet demand and enhance price competitiveness.
