[Alpha Biz= Reporter Kim Sangjin] The government has announced measures to boost duty-free shopping by lifting the limit on the number of bottles of duty-free alcohol that can be brought into the country and halving the patent commission fees for duty-free shops.

On Monday, during a press briefing at the government complex in Sejong, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy, Choi Sang-mok, stated, "The two-bottle limit on duty-free alcohol will be removed, and alcohol bottles under 2 liters and valued at under $400 will be allowed to be brought in without any restrictions."

This move follows the government’s discussions on adjusting the duty-free shop patent commission rates during the 5th Customs Sales Area Operation Committee meeting held on the 18th.
