[Alpha Biz= Reporter Kim Jisun] Amazon, the world's largest e-commerce company, has decided to ship free of charge to Korea. Coupang, Ali and Temu have entered the intensifying e-commerce competition.

According to the industry on the 18th, Amazon decided to deliver free delivery to Korea. However, the order amount must exceed 49 dollars (about 67,000 won). Amazon said on its official website, "You can set your delivery address to South Korea," adding, "If you meet the order requirements, 'free Amazon Global Shipping' automatically applies."

Only items that can be delivered free of charge can receive free international shipping benefits if they meet the minimum order amount set by Amazon. The order amount is based on the US dollar (USD).

Meanwhile, the domestic e-commerce market has recently become more competitive since Coupang announced a price hike on the 12th. Coupang raised its paid membership price by 58.1% from 4,990 won to 7,890 won.

As a result, Gmarket, an online affiliate of Shinsegae Group, will cut the annual fee for its temporarily paid membership, Shinsegae Universe Club, from 30,000 won to 4,900 won next month. Kurly has decided to provide a three-month free subscription to new Kurly members by the 17th of next month and give an additional 2,000 won in monthly reserves to existing customers during the same period.

Naver is conducting a three-month free promotion of its paid subscription membership service 'Naver Plus Membership' until May 31.
