[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Paul Lee] Samsung Electronics is going to strengthen its targeting of 5G (5G) mobile network equipment markets for small U.S. mobile carriers. Attention is focusing on whether the U.S. public project, worth a total of $45 billion (about 60 trillion won), will outperform rivals such as Ericsson and Nokia.

Samsung Electronics participated in the "MCS 2023," which closed in Pittsburgh, USA on the 4th, and exhibited 5G solutions for small and medium-sized US telecommunication companies and held business meetings.

Samsung Electronics is focusing on expanding the results of contracts worth trillions of won for large telecommunication companies such as Verizon, DC and Comcast.

The U.S. market is expected to open up on a large scale depending on the government's public projects.

The performance of Samsung Electronics' network division on the US government's 60 trillion won public projects is expected to be revealed by the end of the year when the contract is completed. Attention is focusing on whether Samsung Electronics will produce results in competition with Ericsson and Nokia, given that its competitors such as Huawei and ZTE have disappeared from the U.S. market and has secured major references through large telecommunication companies.
