[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Kim Jisun] Hyundai Mobis CEO Cho Sung-hwan will step down from his post as CEO.

To sum up the explanations inside and outside the company on the 17th, President Cho recently shared the contents with the company's board of directors and expressed his intention to retire from the executive meeting. It is said that the position will be decided in the near future and announced to the public. Following the company's precedent, he is expected to serve as an advisor for two years after his retirement.

Cho was born in 1961 and majored in mechanical engineering at Stanford University. He served as CEO of Hyundai Autron and deputy head of Hyundai Motor's R & D headquarters. He has been the representative of Hyundai Mobis since December 2020. Hyundai Mobis recorded the highest sales ever for two consecutive years since Cho took office, surpassing 50 trillion won in sales for the first time in 2022.

Cho was elected as the first Korean president of ISO in September last year. This year, she was elected with current chairman Ulika Franke. Cho will take office as chairman of ISO next year and lead the organization for two years. The ISO is an organization with 167 member states and covers 24,000 international standards.
