[Alpha Biz= Paul Lee] SEOUL, South Korea – August 11, 2025 – Mirae Asset Securities announced that, starting August 12, it will extend aftermarket trading hours for U.S. stocks, providing investors with greater flexibility and accessibility.
During daylight saving time, aftermarket trading will be extended from the current 5:00 a.m.–7:00 a.m. KST to 5:00 a.m.–8:30 a.m. KST. Outside of daylight saving time, the window will expand from 6:00 a.m.–7:00 a.m. KST to 6:00 a.m.–9:30 a.m. KST.
With this change, Mirae Asset Securities clients will be able to trade U.S. equities for up to 15 hours and 30 minutes daily—5:00 p.m. to 8:30 a.m. the next day during daylight saving time, and 6:00 p.m. to 9:30 a.m. otherwise.
The company has upgraded its internal systems to support the extended schedule, factoring in the 24-hour trading model the Nasdaq plans to introduce in the second half of next year.
“The extended aftermarket hours will allow our clients to trade even during their morning commute, enhancing convenience for overseas investors,” a company spokesperson said. “However, as aftermarket trading conditions differ from those of regular hours, we recommend careful investment decisions.”
In addition, Mirae Asset Securities will expand the number of U.S. fractional trading eligible stocks from 480 to 950, effective immediately. Investors can now purchase fractional shares starting from KRW 1,000, enabling them to buy high-priced stocks in portions or match trades to specific investment amounts. Fractional trading will be available in real time from the start of the U.S. pre-market session.
