[Alpha Biz= Reporter Kim Jisun] Daemyung Sono Group, now the second-largest shareholder of hybrid airline Air Premia, holds a 24% smaller stake than the top shareholder, AP Holdings.

As of the 12th, Air Premia’s ownership structure consists of 46% friendly shares controlled by AP Holdings, 22% by JC Partners, and 32% held by other shareholders, according to the airline industry.

Daemyung Sono’s subsidiary, Sono International, signed an agreement to purchase half of JC Partners' 22% stake for 47.1 billion KRW ($35 million). If the additional call option for further shares is exercised, Daemyung Sono will hold the full 22%, securing its position as the second-largest shareholder.

With rumors that Daemyung Sono may be considering acquiring a stake in AP Holdings, industry observers speculate that the group is aiming to secure management control of Air Premia.
