[Alpha Biz= Kim Jisun] LG Display has filed a patent infringement lawsuit against Chinese display manufacturer Tianma in a U.S. federal court, alleging that several of Tianma’s products infringe on its proprietary display technologies.
According to industry sources on June 16, LG Display filed the lawsuit on June 13 (local time) with the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas. The complaint includes seven cases of alleged infringement related to display technology.
The products in question include Tianma’s mobile LCD and OLED panels, as well as automotive LCD displays. LG Display asserts that these products violate multiple patents held by the company.
This marks LG Display’s first-ever patent lawsuit against a Chinese display manufacturer. The legal action underscores the company’s commitment to protecting its intellectual property and preventing the unauthorized use of its core technologies by overseas competitors.
LG Display stated that it will continue to enforce its patent rights globally to ensure fair competition and safeguard its technological leadership in the display industry.
