[Alpha Biz= Kim Jisun] LS Electric is accelerating its expansion into the North American market by participating in a U.S.-based artificial intelligence (AI) data center project through its subsidiary.

On April 6, LS Electric announced that LS Power Solution recently signed a contract worth approximately $70.26 million (KRW 106.6 billion) with a U.S. energy infrastructure company to supply ultra-high-voltage transformers.

Under the agreement, LS Power Solution will provide 345kV-class transformers for a microgrid designed to supply power to a hyperscale data center being developed in the central United States.

The supply period is scheduled to run from the fourth quarter of next year through the first half of 2028.

The deal marks a strategic step for LS Electric as it strengthens its presence in the fast-growing AI data center infrastructure market in North America.
