[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Kim Jisun] It has been confirmed that financial authorities have issued customer refunds to credit card companies in connection with the controversial issue of missing Naver points last year.

According to the financial sector on the 5th, the Financial Supervisory Service instructed the Credit Finance Association and credit card companies to refund customers who were missing Naver points during the first half of the year.

Naver Hyundai Card will pay 5% (KRW 10,000) worth of Naver points for the amount of KRW 200,000 if the monthly usage is more than KRW 300,000. However, if the monthly amount of use exceeds 200,000 won, the monthly reserve limit will be restored after the cancellation is received if the already accumulated payment is canceled.

For example, if a customer who paid 200,000 won with Naver Hyundai Card and set aside 10,000 Naver points (5% of the amount) canceled the payment of 200,000 won and later paid 100,000 won, it was pointed out that the accumulation of Naver points (5,000 won) was not made for 100,000 won in principle until the cancellation of 200,000 won was received.

The terms and conditions of the card stipulated, "If the monthly use exceeds 200,000 won, if the already accumulated payment is canceled, the monthly reserve limit will be restored after the cancellation of sales by Hyundai Card."

As a result, the FSS instructed credit card companies that released cards that set aside Naver points to calculate and refund missing details through computer development.
