[Alpha Biz= Kim Jisun] Samsung Pay experienced a service disruption on the morning of June 2, causing inconvenience to users attempting to make payments or register cards.

According to Samsung Electronics, the issue began around 7:00 a.m. and persisted for approximately three and a half hours. The company announced at around 10:30 a.m. that the service had been fully restored:

“The issue causing errors during card payments and registration has been resolved, and the service is now operating normally. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused,” the company stated.

Samsung Electronics indicated that the disruption may have been caused by a network issue involving dedicated lines used by certain card companies.

The government has received a report from Samsung and is currently reviewing whether to conduct an on-site investigation.
