[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Paul Lee] KT & G's presidential nomination committee has confirmed Bang Kyung-man, senior vice president, as its next presidential candidate.

The presidential nomination committee conducted face-to-face in-depth interviews of the four candidates for the second short list on the 22nd and selected senior vice president Bang as its candidate for the next president. Candidate Bang will be appointed as CEO at a regular shareholders' meeting scheduled to be held in late March, reflecting the general consensus of all shareholders.

Bang graduated from Hankuk University of Foreign Studies with an economics degree and earned a master's degree in business administration from New Hampshire University in the United States. After joining the Korea Tobacco Ginseng Corporation, the predecessor of KT & G, in 1998, he gained experience in various core areas of the company, including brand manager, global headquarters, strategic planning director, and business manager.

Candidate Bang plays a leading role in establishing a mid- to long-term growth strategy centered on three core businesses (NGP, health functional food and Global CC) through the company's growth investment and technological innovation based on his abundant experience and expertise throughout the business, including brand, marketing, global and strategy, and is in charge of the overall business as the head of the general division.

The "Esse Change," which was released when he was the head of the brand, is currently considered to have set the stage for a rebound in the domestic market share as the No. 1 brand in the domestic market.
