Hanwha Aerospace Increases Stake in Korea Aerospace Industries to 7.22%

[Alpha Biz= Ellie Kim] Hanwha Aerospace has increased its stake in Korea Aerospace Industries (KAI), further strengthening its position in the domestic aerospace sector.

KAI disclosed on May 29 that Hanwha Aerospace acquired an additional 2.12% stake, equivalent to approximately 2.07 million shares. Including affiliated entities, Hanwha Aerospace’s ownership rose by 1.05 percentage points from 6.17% to 7.22%.

Following the transaction, Hanwha Aerospace now holds a total of 7.03 million shares in KAI, up from 6.01 million shares previously.

In market trading on the same day, Hanwha Aerospace shares were down 0.75%, while KAI shares rose 0.95%, reflecting investor response to the stake increase.

The move is seen as part of Hanwha Aerospace’s broader strategy to expand its presence and influence in the aerospace and defense industry.
