Worker Dies in Accident at Hyundai Motor and LG Energy Solution Joint Factory in Georgia

[Alpha Biz= Kim Jisun] A worker has recently died in an accident while working at a Hyundai Motor and LG Energy Solution joint factory in Georgia, USA.


According to the Savannah Morning News on Monday (local time), a male worker was struck by a forklift and killed at the battery plant on the 21st.


Hyundai Motor Group Metaplant America (HMGMA) expressed its condolences in a statement, stating, "The incident is currently under investigation," and extended deep sympathy to the victim’s family, friends, and colleagues.


LG Energy Solution also issued a statement, offering condolences and announcing a temporary halt in operations to strengthen safety protocols.


The Savannah Morning News also pointed out that on April 29, 2023, a 34-year-old man tragically fell to his death at the same construction site.


The joint battery plant between Hyundai Motor Group and LG Energy Solution in Georgia is expected to begin operations in the second half of this year or the first half of next year.
