[Alpha Biz= Kim Jisun] Naver has confirmed that, despite Netflix's recent price hike, its shopping app, Naver Plus, and its affiliated membership pricing will remain unchanged.

In November of last year, Naver launched a partnership membership with Netflix, allowing Naver Plus members to enjoy the same benefits as the Netflix ad-supported Standard plan without any additional cost. As a result, Naver Plus has become a popular choice among users, offering Netflix membership along with its own services for a monthly fee of 4,900 won, or 3,900 won for annual subscribers.

Naver clarified, "Even if Netflix increases its prices, our partnership with Netflix is based on a separate agreement, so we are not affected by the price change. Therefore, the Naver Plus membership fee will remain unchanged, and the benefits of the partnership will continue as before."

The company also stated, "Since the launch of Naver Plus in 2020, we have never increased the membership fee, and there are currently no plans to raise the price."

Yesterday, Netflix announced an increase in the prices of its lowest-tier plans, including the ad-supported Standard and Basic plans. The Basic plan price rose from 9,500 won to 12,000 won, while the ad-supported Standard plan increased from 5,500 won to 7,000 won.
