[Alpha Biz= Kim Young Taek] Kim Byeong-joo, Chairman of MBK Partners, has recently made remarks regarding the ongoing issues with Homeplus, which have attracted significant attention.

He referred to the company's corporate rehabilitation problem as "some noise," a comment that has sparked criticism for downplaying the severity of the situation.

In a letter to investors on March 24, Kim explained that "the corporate rehabilitation of Homeplus has caused some noise in the media."

While acknowledging that not all of their portfolios have performed well, he also mentioned that some stakeholders may face disadvantages compared to shareholders, recognizing this fact.

This has led to criticism that Kim may not fully grasp the seriousness of the Homeplus situation.

On April 1, the Financial Supervisory Service revealed that it had detected signs that Homeplus might have issued bonds while preparing for corporate rehabilitation procedures.

Kim had also criticized the media during the process of acquiring Korea Zinc. He remarked, "The acquisition of Korea Zinc has been highlighted under sensational headlines like 'hostile takeover,'" implying that the media was shifting responsibility onto others.
