[Alpha Biz= Paul Lee] South Korean police have obtained a court-approved search and seizure warrant for the SPC Samlip bakery factory in Siheung, Gyeonggi Province, following the death of a worker in her 50s who was fatally caught in machinery during operations.

According to the Siheung Police Department on June 13, the Suwon District Court’s Ansan Branch approved the fourth request for a warrant to search the SPC Samlip facility. The court had previously denied three separate warrant applications submitted by police investigating the incident.

After the third rejection on June 5, police supplemented their application with additional details and refiled the request, which was ultimately granted.

The fatal incident occurred around 3 a.m. on May 19 at SPC Samlip’s bakery plant in Siheung. The victim, a woman in her 50s, was reportedly applying lubricant to a cooling container belt when she was caught in the machinery and killed.

On May 27, investigators conducted a joint on-site forensic inspection. Authorities have since booked seven individuals—including factory officials—on charges of occupational negligence resulting in death and are continuing their investigation.
