[Alpha Biz= Paul Lee] Authorities are investigating the death of a man in his 30s who was fatally injured in a vehicle-related accident at a logistics center in Pyeongtaek, Gyeonggi Province.

According to the Pyeongtaek Police Department on June 13, the incident occurred at approximately 4:58 p.m. on June 12 at the Costco Korea logistics center in Poseung-eup, Pyeongtaek. The victim, a Chinese national, was reportedly working on a loading task when the accident occurred.

Preliminary findings by the police and the Ministry of Employment and Labor suggest that the worker was assisting with transportation tasks when he became trapped between a reversing refrigerated truck and a wall.

To determine the exact cause of death, the police have requested a forensic analysis of the victim’s clothing and remains from the National Forensic Service.

The Ministry of Employment and Labor has also launched an investigation into potential violations of the Industrial Safety and Health Act and the Serious Accidents Punishment Act. Partial suspension of work at the site has been enforced as part of the safety response.
