HD Hyundai to Merge Shipbuilding Units Hyundai Heavy Industries and Hyundai Mipo Dockyard

[Alpha Biz= Kim Jisun] Seoul, August 27, 2025 — HD Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering (HD KSOE), the intermediate shipbuilding holding company of HD Hyundai, announced plans to restructure its business ahead of the launch of the Korea–U.S. shipbuilding cooperation project known as “MASGA.”



As part of the restructuring, HD Hyundai will merge two of its three shipbuilding affiliates — Hyundai Heavy Industries and Hyundai Mipo Dockyard — with the aim of achieving economies of scale and strengthening its global competitiveness in both shipbuilding and defense sectors.
