[Alpha Biz= Paul Lee] Hanwha Ocean disclosed on Jan. 8 that a fatal industrial accident occurred at its Geoje shipyard, where a directly employed worker at the PAS plant (sub-assembly facility) was found unconscious in a personal rest area and later died.

According to Hanwha Ocean, the worker was discovered unconscious in the early morning while resting in a personal break space. Cardiopulmonary resuscitation was administered immediately, and the worker was rushed to a nearby hospital, but was pronounced dead.

It was reported that the worker had already lost consciousness by the time a colleague found him.

Police and other relevant authorities are currently investigating the exact cause of the incident.
