[Alpha Biz=(Chicago) Reporter Kim Sang Jin] The ruling party has tentatively confirmed that major government ministries, including the National Tax Service and the Ministry of Employment and Labor, will further intervene in the intensifying medical crisis, following the police.
On the 21st, a key government official from the ruling party told Alpha Biz, "The President's Office and others are aware of the seriousness of the medical crisis caused by the medical residents' strike," and added, "We have decided to request urgent cooperation from related ministries such as the National Tax Service and the Ministry of Employment and Labor."
The National Tax Service and others have reportedly set up an internal policy to focus on management status and fraudulent accounting, focusing on the big five hospitals. Asan Medical Center, Seoul Samsung Hospital, Yonsei Severance Hospital, Seoul St. Mary's Hospital and Seoul National University Hospital are classified as the big five hospitals. The Ministry of Employment and Labor is reportedly planning to look into the low-wage problems of majors that continue to emerge in the wake of the mass resignation of residents and the management's unfair labor practices in the working environment for more than 80 hours a week. Earlier, the Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of Public Administration and Security, the Supreme Prosecutors' Office and the National Police Agency announced stern measures, including the principle of arrest investigation, through a joint briefing after holding a meeting on collective action in the medical community.
