[Alpha Biz= Kim Jisun] Seoul, August 26, 2025 — LG CNS has been awarded the contract to expand the 5G private network infrastructure at Incheon International Airport, strengthening the airport’s smart airport capabilities. The company outperformed Korea’s three major telecom operators—SK Telecom, KT, and LG Uplus—in the competitive bidding process.

According to Korea’s Public Procurement Service, Incheon International Airport announced the tender for the “5G Specialized Network Expansion Project” in June and finalized the bidding on July 16. LG CNS secured the project with a bid of KRW 8.23 billion (approximately USD 61 million).

LG CNS achieved both the highest price score (20 points) compared to SK Telecom (19.59), KT (19.75), and LG Uplus (19.99), as well as the top technical evaluation score (80 points), surpassing SK Telecom (75.80), KT (75.14), and LG Uplus (71.13).

The project aims to enhance operational efficiency at Incheon Airport by leveraging 5G-powered technologies, including multi-purpose service robots for passenger guidance, check-in, and patrol operations, as well as intelligent CCTV and autonomous mobility services.

Incheon International Airport designated LG CNS as the preferred negotiation partner last month and has now formalized the contract. The 5G network expansion will be carried out over a 15-month period, followed by 36 months of operation and maintenance.
