[Alpha Biz= Reporter Kim Joonhyun] SEOUL, November 13, 2025 — Samsung Electronics has appointed Han Jin-man, currently Head of the Foundry Business, as the new head of its Memory Business Division, a role previously held concurrently by Vice Chairman and CEO Jun Young-hyun. This appointment resolves one of the most closely watched questions in Samsung’s latest executive reshuffle.
According to industry sources familiar with Samsung’s internal discussions, the company sought a leader capable of directly engaging with global Big Tech firms amid expectations of explosive growth in the global memory business next year. “There was internal consensus that the division needs a global-caliber executive who can stand toe-to-toe with global Big Tech,” the source said. “Given his international experience, including his tenure at Micron, Han Jin-man was considered the ideal candidate.”
Han began his career at Samsung Electronics in 1989 as a DRAM design engineer within the Memory Business. From October 2002 to September 2008, he worked at Micron Technology in the United States, gaining extensive global industry experience.
After returning to Samsung in 2008, he held multiple key positions across the memory portfolio, including Head of Flash Design, Head of SSD Development, and Head of Strategic Marketing, building a comprehensive track record across the company’s core semiconductor technologies.
Notably, since December 2022, Han has served as Head of DS Americas (DSA), overseeing Samsung’s semiconductor operations in the region and cultivating a strong network with major North American Big Tech clients, including NVIDIA. He was promoted to Head of the Foundry Business last November.
